Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.

This “Pretty in pink old-fashioned cake” consists of a white vanilla cake filled with a pink Angel feather icing and decorated with pretty sprinkles from Wilton.

I used this recipe for Vanilla white cake, but feel free to use any other white cake recipe.

Add a little pink food coloring to the batter right at the end, I used Soft pink from Americolor.

Divide the batter between two greased 8-inch (20 cm) cake pans.

You can of course use one larger pan instead if you prefer.

Bake in a 350 ˚F (180 ˚C) oven for about 30 minutes.

Leave to cool in the pans for a while before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Meanwhile, make the Angel feather icing.

You can find the recipe for the Angel feather icing here.

You can of course use a different color.

Transfer the icing to a piping bag fitted with a large tip. Pipe the icing all around the edge of the first cake, then use a palette knife to spread some icing within the circle as well.

Place the second cake on top.

Now cover the top and sides of the cake with the icing, use a palette knife or similar to help you.

Just lovely!

Use a spoon to create a decorative patteren on top of the cake.

Finish in the center…

I like to decorate this cake with some pretty, white sprinkles from Wilton.

Cut the cake to discover the pretty pink inside…

I just love pink!

A little taste…

So good!

That was it for now, I wish you all a wonderful day.

Hugs from me to you.
