Hello everyone!

These Peppermint Patty Whoopies are delicious chocolate whoopies with a peppermint patty filling, then topped with a luscious chocolate ganache..

So yummy… here is the recipe – enjoy!

Peppermint Patties Whoopies (yield: approx. 40 whoopies)

  • 1 3/4 cup (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) pure unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (230 g) butter
  • 1 cup (225 g) regular sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Bring out all the ingredients…

Put he butter and sugar into a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Add the egg and vanilla.

Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

Tip the flour mixture into the mixing bowl and beat for one minute until everything is well blended and the dough is nice and smooth.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for about 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 320 F (160 C).

Shape the dough into small balls. I use a small ice cream scoop to make all the same size.

Press down a little with the palm of your hand.

Bake for about 15 minutes.

Done! And the smell is simply divine…

Peppermint patties

  • 1 2/3 cups (220 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy. The mixture is quite firm.

Place a teaspoon (or more) of the peppermint mixture on one of the whoopies and sandwich together with another whoopie.

Repeat with the remaining whoopies.

To make the ganache:

  • 1 3/4 oz. (50 g) chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Put the chocolate and cream into a small bowl and heat in the micriwave for a few seconds. Stir until smooth, then glaze the whoopies with 1 teaspoon each of this chocolate ganache.
