Today’s temptations are some amazing buns filled with lemon curd, strawberries and chocolate.
The perfect treat for the weekend!
Here is the recipe, enjoy!
- 2 1/2 cups (325 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 oz. (50 g) fresh yeast
- 4 tablespoons (35 g) powdered milk
- 2 tablespoons (35 g) regular sugar
- 1/ 8 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs plus 1 egg yolk
- 2/# cup (145 g) butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) tepid water
Bring out all the ingredients.
Dissolve the yeast in the tepid water.
Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl.
Use the dough hook attachment and mix for about 20 minutes, medium speed.
The dough may seem too sticky at first, but after 20 minutes it will be soft and smooth.
Don’t be tempted to add any more flour.
Leave to prove for about 45 minutes, room temperature.
Tip out onto a lightly floured work surface.
Roll out the dough, then spread out a layer of lemon curd. You can find my recipe for lemon curd here.
It’s easy to make, and soo good!
Then arrange some fresh strawberries on top of the lemon curd.
What could be better?
Roll up like a Swiss roll, cut into slices and place on a lined baking tray or pan.
Bake in a 350 F (180 C) oven for about 10-15 minutes.
(I didn’t leave these buns to rise a second time.)
Fresh from the oven… the smell is just amazing!
I considered drizzling some maple syrup on top and eat the buns with some banana…
Instead I drizzled over some luscious, dark Callebaut chocolate…
After all, it’s the weekend…
Make variations to suit your taste, you could add jam, raisins, chocolate chips…
That’s it for now, I hope you’re tempted…
I hope you’ll have a wonderful week!
Hugs from me to you.
