Today’s temptations are these luscious Oreo chocolate and banana cupcakes which are made with vanilla custard, bananas, chocolate and Oreos.
Top the cupcakes with a swirl of fluffy Angel feather icing and a strawberry or an Oreo… heaven!
Here is the recipe, enjoy!
Oreo chocolate & banana cupcakes (Yield: 30)
- 3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon (200 g) butter
- 1 1/4 cup (275 g) regular sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups (500 ml) vanilla custard
- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 1/2 oz. (100 g) chocolate chips
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 packet Oreos
Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C).
Put the butter and sugar into a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating for about 1-2 minutes between each addition.
Sift together the flour and baking powder, then repeat twice.
Add the flour mixture and the vanilla custard and stir well with a rubber spatula.
Mash the bananas and roughly crush the Oreos.
Fold the bananas and Ores into the batter.
Divide the batter between the paper cases using an ice cream scoop, one scoop per cupcake.
Bake the in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
Leave to cool completely.

Decorate with a single strawberry or an Oreo.

These cupcakes have a rich vanilla flavor because of the vanilla custard added to the batter.
