This yummy frosting is fun to make, you can basically use whichever candies you like best.
I didn’t add and colors here, but if you choose to do so just add it in the “beat until fluffy” stage.
Candy Frosting (for 24 cupcakes or an 8-inch (20 cm) cake)
- 1 1/4 cup (300 ml) heavy cream
- 2 1/2 oz. (80 g) candy of your choice (taffies, toffees, etc.)
- a few drops food coloring (optional)
Pour the cream into a saucepan and heat until very warm, but take it off the heat before it starts boiling.
Add the candies.
Stir well until all the candies have melted in the warm cream.
Place in the refrigerator for about 6 hours.
Remove from the refrigerator and start whisking. If you want to add food coloring, add it at this stage.
Whisk until fluffy, about 2 minutes. (No longer, or the frosting may split.)
Frosting ready to use!
