christmas

Good morning everyone!

I’m back home again after a trip to Dubai and Sharjah. I was invited there to attend the Sharjah International Book Fair, and I met so many lovely people.

But now I’m back at the Passion4Baking HQ and ready to continue the Christmas baking.

I have to admit it’s strange to go from 95 F (+35˚C) to 40 F (+5˚C), but for me it’s not very hard to get into the Christmas spirit…

Today’s temptations are Button candies. They are easy to make and they are perfect for cupcake or cake decorating, or why not enjoy as they are.

Button candies also make a lovely gift.

You will need a silicone baking mat to make these, the kind with small rounds such as a macaron mat or similar.

Fill each indentation with a tablespoonful of melted chococate. I recommend using tempered chocolate or coating chocolate here.

If you don’t have a silicone mat like this just use a sheet of baking paper. Draw small rounds with the help of a cookie cutter, then spray with non-stick baking spray and fill with chocolate as described above.

Leave for a while until the chocolate just starts to set, that’s when you sprinkle with some mini nonpareils, pink and white or any colors you like.

When the chocolate has set completely – pop the buttons out of the mat.

Store in an airtight container, or leave them out on the table for people to help themselves…

These will stay nice and shiny for weeks if you use tempered chocolate or coating chocolate.

Such a lovely gift, and what a nice way to spread some happiness!

I wish you all a wonderful day, hugs from me to you.
