Hello everyone, today I’ll show you how to make licorice marshmallows.

Licorice is probably one of my all-time favorite sweet things.. I grew up in the Netherlands where we were given some licorice after dinner, so I guess the love of this flavor followed me from childhood.

I use Johan Bülow fine licorice powder for these, the flavor is simply the best!

You need to start off my making the vanilla marshmallow mixture, you can find the recipe here.

But in addition you’ll need:

  • 1/2 box Johan Bülow fine licorice powder

Add the licorice powder to the marshmallow mixture in the beginning of the whisking process.

Pour the mixture into a 6 x 8-inch (15 x 20 cm) or larger baking pan, remember to grease well with some non-stick baking spray.

Bring out a sheet of baking paper and dust liberally with powdered sugar.

Tip out the marshmallows onto the baking paper.

Dust with more powdered sugar, then cut into squares. Roll in powdered sugar to cover all sides.

If you love licoroce you’ll adore these… if you you’re not a licoroce fan you can add any other flavor, a basic marshmallow recipe is very versatile.

I hope you are tempted!

  1. Hi! I love, absolutely love licorice marshmallows, and I am waiting on a pack of licorice powder to arrive, but my question is how much do you  actually add? In your recipe, you say “1/2 box Johan Bülow fine licorice powder”, for those of us who do not use that brand, how much is that? Thanks.

Hi Rima, the box Manuela uses contains 45 grams fine licorice powder, so you need approximately 22-23 grams, or according to taste.
Hope you’ll like them as much as we do! 🙂
