Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.

Last month I was in Chicago, and while I was there I attanded a gala night which was arranged by the International Houseware Show.

The profits from the gala went to the Cancer Association, and I’m happy to say that no less than 2 million dollars came in, that’s just fantastic.

I met and got to know Gemma Stafford (number two from the right on the photo below) and her husband Kevin (the photographer of the photo), who run a Youtube channel called “Gemma’s Bigger Bolder Baking”, you can see it here.

Gemma launches a new video of her baking every Thursday, her husband is the camera man.

Last week she launched this video where she makes a simple ice cream from cream, sweetened condensed milk and flavoring.

If you know English you’ll get more tips about other flavorings by watching this video.

I wanted to make licorice ice cream, I just love everything licorice…

You’ll need the following:

  • just under 2 cups (450 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • licorice extract (dr.Oetker)
  • licorice sprinkles (dr.Oetker)

Pour the cream into a mixing bowl and whisk until stiff peaks form. I use my pink Assistent Original, I love that you can get a glass bowl for it now, which makes it easier to show what I’m mixing. If you want to know more about the Assistent Original, take a look at their website here.

I use licorice flavoring from Dr.Oetker here.

Add the sweetened condensed milk and whisk until nice and fluffy.

Then add licorice extract to taste.

I use these pretty ice cream cartons from Clas Ohlson.

Sprinkle some licorice sprinkles on top. I could easily eat one whole box of these, they’re sooo delicious…

Place the ice cream in the freezer for a few hours.

This ice cream was just amazing, and even better: so easy to make.

I wish you all a great evening, hugs from me to you.

  1. Hi Manuela !
I absolutely love your website it is so inspiring to my love for baking! I really want one of your books but they aren’t in English so I can’t read them! When are you going to make a cookbook in English?

Hi Lynne, thank you for your kind words. There will be a book in English at some point, but the date is not set. When we have a date we will announce it here, of course. 🙂
