Hello everyone! I hope you are all well, and that you are enjoying the weekend.
I posted this photo on Instagram the other day, asking if you would like the recipe.
These Love Hearts are made of almonds, and they are super delicious.
Here’s the recipe.
Marzipan Love Hearts
(Yield: approx. 60)
- 17 1/2 oz. (500 g) blanched almonds
- 4 cups (500 g) powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 1 tablespoon titanium dioxide
- food coloring pastes
- heart shaped cutter
- Mini sugar craft stamps or letter embosser
Put the almonds into a food processor and run the motor until they are finely ground.
I use a KitchenAid Artisan Food Processor for this, the color is Frost White, and you can get it here (Norwegian link).
If you don’t have a food processor you can use almond flour, such as this. (You’ll need some muscles and patience as well, though…)
Tip in the powdered sugar, and run the motor again until everything is very finely ground and well blended.
Add the vanilla paste and egg white, a little at a time. Hold back some of the egg white, you may not need it all.
Mix in the titanium dioxide and run the motor until the mixture comes together.
Divide the marzipan into 2 or 3 equally sized parts. Add a drop of food coloring paste and knead until the color is evenly distributed.
Dust your work surface with some powdered sugar and roll out the marzipan.
Use mini sugar craft stamps or a letter embosser and create the words of your choice, such as “You are mine”, “I love you” or “Be mine”.
Then use a small heart shaped cutter to cut out the love hearts.
I hope you are tempted to try making these pretty love hearts, perfect for a wedding or any party.
You can of course use any sugar craft stamps to make your own unique designs.
- You can get various cutters and letter embossers here (Norwegian link).
- Titanium dioxide is used to make marzipan and sugar pastes extra white. You can get it here (Norwegian link).
- You can get almond floure here (Norwegian link).
You can get these pretty pink ice cream glasses here (international link).
I wish you all a great Saturday, make the best of it!
Hugs from me to you.

Hi, I’m hoping to use this for your Norwegian cake recipe. Do you use blanched almonds that have the brown skin, or do you remove yours first? Thank you. ?
Yes for white marzipan I do, for regular marzipan no need
