Hello everyone!
I know that most of you love Oreo cookies, I got that confirmed when I posted this photo of the new Peanut Butter Oreos.
It’s a limited edition Oreo special, and so incredibly good….
No less than 1602 comments and almost 20 000 likes in instagram – wow!
I just had to come up with something yummi to make with these treats, and today I made delicious Peanut Butter Oreo Cream Cheese cookes…
Recipe will follow.
I also made some amazing Oreo brownies with a silky smooth ganache, topped with extra Oreos and sprinkles.
I’ll give you that recipe too, in case you are not a fan of peanut butter.
Ok, let’s bake.
By the way, I just love these pretty KitchenAid ceramic bowls, you can get them here (Swedish link).
I’m usually not very happy about red, but these are so adorable.
Fudge brownies
- 9 oz. (250 g) dark chocolate (55-60% cocoa solids)
- ½ cup (120 g) unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla paste (optional)
- 1 ¾ cups (350 g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 7 oz. (200 g) dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 packet Oreos
Put the 9 oz. (250 g) chocolate into a heat proof bowl with the butter and melt over a pan of simmering water.
Put the eggs and sugar into a mixing bowl and stir with a hand whisk.
Add the vanilla, if using.
Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the egg/sugar mixture.
Stir for 10 seconds or so, if you overmix the brownies won’t get that fudgy consistency.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and salt and fold into the mixture.
Fold in the chopped chocolate.
And a packet of Oreos, chopped or crushed.
Pour the mixture into a lined 9 x 12-inch (25 x 30 cm) baking pan.
Bake in a 347 °F (175 °C) oven for 25 minutes, no longer.
Let cool completely.
Simple Ganache
- 7 oz. (200 g) dark chocolate (55-70% cocoa solids), chopped
- 1/3 cup (75 g) unsalted butter, diced
- 1 cup + 1 tbsp (250 ml) heavy cream
- 2 tbsp. (50 g) runny honey
Place the chocolate and butter into a bowl.
Put the cream and honey into a small saucepan and heat until almost boiling.
Remove from the heat and pour over the chopped dark chocolate and diced butter. Stir well until the ganache is nice and shiny.
Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let set for a few hours, or preferably overnight.
The silky smooth ganache is perfect for these brownies… Spread out a generous layer, then top with crushed Oreos and some sprinkles.
For this recipe I used Oreo Original.
Perfect for kids’ birthday parties.
I hope you are tempted! If you make them I’d love to get your feedback.
From Oreo brownies to….
Peanut Butter Oreo Cream Cheese Cookies.
- 1/2 cup (120 g) butter
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (130 g) Philadelphia cream cheese
- 1 cup + 1 tbsp (225 g) granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cup (190 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 5 oz. (140 g) dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1/2 packet Peanut Butter Oreos
For the topping:
- 1/2 packet Peanut Butter Oreos
- white chocolate, to decorate (optional)
Here I’m using my favourite stand mixer, Ankarsrum Assistent Original.
You can get the mixer here (Swedish link).
Bring out all the ingredients and preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C), preferably convectional setting.
Put the Philadelphia cream cheese (cold, straight from the fridge) into a mixing bowl with the butter, sugar and peanut butter.
Mix until fluffy.
Meanwhile, finely crush 1/2 packet of Peanut Butter Oreos.
Add the flour to the cream cheese and butter mixture.
Followed by the chocolate chips (or use chopped chocolate).
Add the finely crushed 1/2 packet of Oreos.
Mix until just combined.
Dough ready.
I use a medium ice cream scoop to make the cookies. You can get this one here (Norwegian link).
Make equally sized balls from the mixture and roll them into the extra 1/2 packet finely crushed Oreos.
The surface will most likely crack, especially if using the convectional setting.
Bake for about 12-15 minutes.
If you’re not using the convectional setting the surface won’t crack, but the cookies won’t be as fluffy.
I like to drizzle some melted white chocolate on top. Decorate with sprinkles, if you like.
The fantastic combo of Oreos and peanut butter really shine through in these Peanut Butter Oreo Cream Cheese cookies…

Hello. What a nice recipes. Lovely! I want to ask wether do we need to crush the oreo include the filling? Or do we need to separate it before?
Hi td, if you want the peanut butter flavour the filling should not be removed. 🙂
